How did France become the country of gastronomy?

During the 1900s, thousands of motorists took to the road for the first time in France. And especially on the Nationale 7 which connects Paris to the French Riviera. At each stage, restaurants and inns open to serve this new clientele. Thus will be born real dynasties of cooks who will make France the country of good food.
